Let’s Talk Birth Control with Simple Health

Filed in Uncategorized — October 29, 2018

Hi guys! Welcome back to the blog, I missed you! Today we’re getting real and talking about a pretty personal subject. Birth Control. The concept of birth control hits pretty close to home for me. Growing up, both of my two older sisters had unexpected pregnancies before the age of 20. So even though I wasn’t necessarily sexually active at the time, my mom sent me to the gynecologist so that I was equipped with the knowledge and resources of how to stay protected. Ya know, just incase.

Over the years I’ve tried other methods of birth control but I have most recently found that the pill is the right choice for me, if I remembered to take it everyday that is, lol. I am so fortunate that I have the insurance, freedom and resources to make that decision but realistically, some people don’t.

I believe that everyone should have the right to choose how they take care of their own body. I also believe that everyone should have access to affordable healthcare, especially affordable birth control. If you’re just recently entering into the after-college adult world like me, you know that healthcare is anything but simple, but Simple Health is here to change that.

Hate taking trips to the pharmacy? Me too. Problem solved.

Simple Health is a new online resource that is helping women 18 and older from all over the country receive affordable birth control, delivered right to their door. They are passionate about making women’s healthcare more accessible and affordable, which is so needed! Did you know that nearly 19 million women in need lack birth control resources? How about that 10 million women between the ages of 19-64 have no health insurance? Most of us, like myself, don’t think about this because we’ve never faced those issues. I’m so happy that Simple Health has and that I am partnering with them to help spread the word of their mission and services!

But Kels, is it safe? YES! Simple Health works with licensed physicians who are the ones reviewing your health history and prescribing you the birth control method that is right for you. They follow the same rules and regulations that your in-person doctor follows, so you know you’re in good care.

How it works!

My favorite part about Simple Health is how simple it is! Whether you need a new birth control prescription or you just want to transfer your current prescription, the process is pretty easy. Just head to there website, here and click the ‘get started’ link.

If you need a new birth control prescription: Before heading to the website, be prepared. To get a new prescription, you will need a blood pressure reading from the last 12 months. Call your doctor to gain access for your records or head to your nearest pharmacy for a free reading. You will also need $20 for the prescription (but read on for a special offer!), a photo ID and your insurance card.

No insurance? No problem. That’s why Simple Health offers affordable Birth Control, no matter your coverage.

Once you have the necessary paperwork ready, head to Simplehealth.com to get started. They will first ask you a little bit about your medical history, allergies, conditions and your birth control preferences. After you submit these answers, a doctor will review it and determine what birth control is right for you. The doctor will write you a prescription and then you will receive a price update if any costs apply. Seriously so easy!

If you want to transfer your prescription to Simple Health for free delivery:

If you already have a birth control prescription and want to transfer it to simple health, your process is even easier! All you need is your insurance card and the current pharmacy you use to fill your prescription, Simple Health does the rest.

Take advantage of free delivery, every month!

I don’t know about you guys but I’m pretty lazy when it comes to running errands like grocery shopping, dropping mail off at the post office or even driving to the pharmacy to pick up my birth control every month. Thankfully Simple Health offers free birth control delivery so I no longer have to wait in pharmacy lines, Hallelujah!

Hold on, it gets better. Simple health is giving me a promo code to hook you guys up with a FREE prescription. Just head to their website, here and  use code, ‘KELCLIGHT’ at checkout.

If you guys don’t take advantage of this offer, you’re crazy! Just sayin.
