Our girl’s weekend was hosted by The Fairmont in downtown Austin and let me tell ya, it was stunning! (you can see for yourself below). The employees were so sweet, the space was clean and the room service was delicious.
The pool area was my favorite! There was a patio with corn hole and other games set up that attached to the outside bar. When you went into the pool gates there was a long pool with build in pool chairs, halfway in the water and a hot tub. We got a cabana for the day on Sunday and enjoyed drinks + the best nachos I’ve ever had no joke.
I also loved how they had a quick market style restaurant as well as a sit down one. Nothing is worse than staying at a hotel that doesn’t provide you with a way to get your morning coffee and maybe a quick bite to hold you over before breakfast. I would 110% stay here again. Than k you for hosting us, Fairmont Austin!
Our first stop on the trip was originally Torchy’s Tacos, a pretty popular taco place in Austin. We went to the South Congress street location and it was packed. We we’re starving by this point. Luckily the street had a ton of bars. shops and restaurants on it, so we just started walking and found this hidden gem, South Congress Cafe. The patio was super cute and they were very flexible with out party of 10.
I loved that they serves brunch until 2-3pm so that we had all of the options. I ended up getting crab cakes with a salad and a Frozen Peach Bellini. HIGHLY recommend their cocktails, so good!
After lunch we had a plan to visit Kendra Scott, a super cute jewelry brand if you’re not familiar. This place is a dream! The design of the space was stunning and basically one huge photo-op. We loved it!
Once you go into the store, there is a rose and dessert bar incase you want any goodies while you shop. The employees gave us a tour and set us up with the cutest setting at a table outside. They gifted us a pair of earrings also, which was super sweet. If you’re visiting Austin and love pretty places, highly recommend stopping here.
Dinner Friday night was at Kona Grill located at the Domain, a super nice shopping complex about 20 minutes out of the city. I also heard if you’re looking to move to Austin this area is a good option if you want something more lively.
Kona Grill was cool because there menu offered literally everything. You could get traditional American entrees like a burger or wrap or you could do something more oriental like sushi. We started off dinner with deviled eggs and the most delicious avocado rolls ever. I couldn’t make up my mind with what I wanted for dinner so I just got a basic sushi roll. For dessert I took their butter chocolate cake home to eat in my bed while answering emails, LOL no shame. Also, the service here was amazing!
We woke up bright and early Saturday morning to hit a Soul Cycle class! Melissa was the only one of us 4 who has been to one before so we were super excited.
I personally loved it so much! I like that Soul Cycle makes it more of an experience rather than just a workout but I guess for $20 a class, they should. The vibe was very similar to a local spin studio by me called, Zenergy. I recommend both!
After spin, we were starved so we stopped at THE CUTEST quick stop called Modern Market. I am so sad we don’t have these here because I fell in love. This Panera vibe but specializing in breakfast.
Don’t judge the photo below because what I got what amazing! I did Gluten free avocado toast with a medium egg – SO GOOD! The coffee was also good, I got a latte. Please come to Pittsburgh, Modern Market.
We had plans for a late lunch at Blenders & Bowls, the cutest juice bar in Austin. We decided to visit their Southern Hippie Boutique location because Fashion Bloggers, duh. It was so cute and the acai bowls were honestly the best I’ve ever had. They use something called hemp granola (tastes like rice crispy cereal kinda) and I was so for it.
Dinner was reserved at Punch Bowl Social. It’s a restaurant, bar and arcade all in one also located at the Domain. I will say that their menu was a little smaller but it has great options. I ordered the tacos and seasoned french fries. All around a fun/chill place to go with friends.
I basically live for brunch and the fact that this place was so cute makes it an even better experience! We decided to go with Hotel Ella. The vibe is more victorian and it was beautiful. The menu was pretty basic. Not sure if I’d visit again to eat but the vibe was on point.
Sunday was a pool day which I was all for because this city girl has not seen sun in some time. Like mentioned above, the Fairmont’s pool area was my favorite. The cabana we got was so nice, equipped with a big screen tv, tons of comfortable chairs and a server. If you go here you have to order the nachos, they were amazing!
Soooo Melis reserved dinner for us at a fancy place. Earlier in the day we all look at each other and say, let’s cancel and go to In n’ Out. LOL, best decision ever. I always get animal style burger and fries because go big or go home. I also got a chocolate shake this time and it was delicious.
