Hey beautiful people, welcome back. Today I am so happy to bring you this styling blog post! Dad Shoes, chunky sneaks, whatever you wanna call them I never ever thought I could pull the off. At first, I actually wasn’t too sure about the Dad shoes trend at all. Then, I saw them styled with dresses and It started growing on me. I just love the girly/athletic look combined! Anyways, I finally decided I wanted a pair but I’m picky and didn’t want to spend a fortune on them.

One day I was taking one of my multiple weekly strolls through the isles of Target and I spotted these babies for $25 by Wild Fable! BINGO! I thought about them for a couple days before purchasing and I have to say, these things are SO SO SO comfortable! I am seriously so glad I got them. Now I love them and want to wear them with everything (don’t worry, I won’t – lol).

TBH for a minute after purchasing, I kind of struggled with how to style them. I had to resort to Pinterest to give me some ideas (PRO TIP: I always do this to give me some inspo when I’m struggling). I then put together a few pretty simple looks that I thought were super cute!

This Dad Shoe journey made me realize that it’s not that hard to style + pull off these type of shoes! I feel like a lot of people are discouraged, thinking that they will never be able to pull them off or that they don’t know what to wear them with. So that’s why I wanted to write this post for ya’ll! Here are a few ways I style them..

LEGGINGS

My favorite way to style them is casual, but that’s because I like being comfortable but who doesn’t?? I paired them with one of my favorite pairs of black stiletto stripe leggings from Yummie, a black crop top t-shirt from Target, my distressed (self-cropped) denim jacket from Forever21, some layered LemonBug gold necklaces and my favorite ASRTD sunnies to spice things up a bit. I honestly feel like you can’t go wrong when it comes to pairing them with leggings. Add your favorite top combo after that and you’re good to go!

DRESS

I love styling these shoes with dresses! I just think the combo of girly + sporty (like I mentioned before) is so cute. I’ve seen people do babydoll dresses but I decided to go with a black midi dress, faux leather jacket, my favorite mini backpack and the same necklaces are above.

Especially with this jacket combo – LOVE! Shout out to Lauren for helping me style this one. I pair my thrifted high-rise mom jeans with a (tucked in) black fitted turtle neck and this super cute trench style coat from Chicwish. I feel like this would also look super cute finished off with a belt bag or crossbody!
