As someone currently planning a wedding, I know how hard it can be to decide who to invite to your wedding. Mainly because it’s so damn expensive! If I could have 250 people honestly I would but that’s not the case, plus since covid, many people feel more comfortable with smaller weddings. So how do you and your partner decide on what people to invite on your special day?

My advice would be to sit down together and truthfully answer these questions as honestly as possible. TRUST ME I KNOW IT’S HARD! We’re still having a really hard time finalizing the list and moving to Nashville has made things ever harder. We got really close to some people when we first moved but may not really talk to them as much anymore. And then we have friends that we’re just now getting close with and probably will get even closer a year from now.

Figuring out your invite list can be hard, but the following questions helped us and I hope they can help you too!

1. Have you spoken to this person in the last year?
2. When’s the last time your had a quality convo
3. When’s the last time you’ve seen them?
4. Do they know you both?
5. Has that person spent time and effort into your relationship?
6. How long have you know them?
7. Would you be upset if they didn’t invite you to their wedding?
8. Do you speak to this person outside of work?
9. Would you go for dinner with them and pick up the bill?
10. Can you imagine your wedding without them?

Don’t EVER feel pressured to invite someone because they invited you to there’s. It’s YOUR day, you’re picking up the bill so you should do what you want. I mean, I get it. It’s not as easily done as said but hopefully they will understand.
